Serving the Defense Industry for 30 Years

Located in Colorado Springs, CO in proximity to five major military bases as well as the United States Air Force Academy, Diversified Machine Systems (DMS) is well versed in the military world and understands the important challenges that come with manufacturing for this field.

Common Materials

Common materials used in this field are lightweight plastics and composites along with honeycomb. Since each branch serves such different needs, we evaluate all of our military clientele on a case-by-case basis to make sure our most important service people are getting the advanced equipment quality that they deserve.

Military Applications

DMS 3 and 5-axis CNC routers and machining centers are used in military applications and government manufacturing to create three-dimensional digital surface models (DSMs) and digital terrain models (DTMs) for use in 3D visualizations and 3D flight planning and simulations, to manufacture replacement parts in Mobile Parts Hospitals (MPHs), in order to keep ships, ground vehicles, aircraft and machinery ready for action, among other things.

Additionally, government departments and agencies are involved in a wide and varied number of industries and sectors under their various jurisdictions including defense, environmental, economic, and social to name a few.

Advanced Machining Options

Oftentimes, to cut advanced materials like the ones above, many of our military clientele will purchase a 5-axis enclosed overhead gantry router to get their desired results. Additionally, a few military customers have invested in the DMS Hybrid technology to create their own parts when a factory floor isn’t readily available. Since our military operations happen all over the world, creating parts within a matter of hours is sometimes the best option over waiting for certain parts to ship.

As experts in automotive, aerospace and marine manufacturing, DMS makes an ideal partner for those seeking manufacturing expertise in the military sector. DMS 3 and 5-axis CNC routers are sturdy workhorses that, if taken care of properly, will become an integral asset to your manufacturing needs. In fact, we’ve found that most DMS customers see enough return in their first year of ownership to warrant buying a second machine the very next year.

DMS and the Armed Forces

As an Original Equipment Manufacturer, (OEM) DMS is able to configure custom machines for the unique needs of our US military. Our in-house engineers understand the unique challenges that come with manufacturing for the military and are specially trained to help professionals in this field solve complex problems.

We understand that the military landscape is ever-changing, technical and intricate. The engineers at DMS speak the military language and spin up innovative ideas that have never been seen before. Our goal is to meet your military manufacturing needs in a way that not only saves you time but reduces waste and overhead costs.  Many of our partners come to us with a part in mind, and from there we create a CNC router with the capabilities that they need from blueprint to factory floor installation.

When it comes to manufacturing, DMS is a proven expert partner for companies around the globe. Our team of specialists will get a machine in your shop that can produce the specific results that you’re looking for with your CNC router or machining center.
