How do I get information on my HSD Spindle?
Download the Installation, Operation & Maintenance manual from HSD.
How do I find my pivot length?
1. Place dial indicator on table with plunger pointing straight up.
2. Point empty spindle ( no tool holders ) straight down.
3. Set C axis to 0 degrees.
4. Jog spindle down to where the lowest part on the face of the spindle touches the dial indicator and then go down about another 0.020”.
5. Zero out the dial indicator.
6. Write down the Z axis position shown on the screen __________ .
( Example – Z axis position = -22.0” )
7. Jog the Z axis back up.
8. Place a straight dowel in a tool holder / collet in the spindle.
9. Rotate spindle to 90 degrees and bring dowel to indicator – Move Z until you get to same zero on indicator as before in steps 4 and 5.
10. Write down the Z axis position shown on the screen __________ .
11. Add the radius of the dowel to the value in step 10
( Example – If Z axis position = -30.0” and you are using a ½” dowel ,
The radius is ¼” or .25” so the value to use is -30.25” )
12. Treat all values as positive numbers and subtract the position in Step 6 from
the value in Step 11. ( Example : 30.25” – 22” = 8.25” )
( 8.25” is the pivot length in this example )
13. Enter the number from Step 12 into the machines

To reactivate the user account control, follow the same process and set the value to 1 EnableLUA
What are M Codes and G Codes?
In a CNC part program, using G and M code Language describes the sequence of operations that the machine must perform in order to manufacture a component.
Codes that begin with G are called preparatory words because they prepare the machine for a certain type of motion. For Example: G54 = Fixture Offset #1
Codes that begin with M are called miscellaneous words that control machine auxiliary options.
For Example: M3 = Spindle on Clockwise

My machine has a red banner across the screen with an error. How do I find out what that means?
If the error number is 3 digits (for example: Error 605), the error is produced by the Fagor Servo Amplifier. A description of that error can be found in the Fagor DDS Software Manual in Chapter 14.
If the error number is 4 digits (for example: Error 1187), the error is produced by the Fagor CNC Controller. A description of that error can be found in the Fagor Error Solutions Manual for that specific controller (for example – CNC 8055-i M Error Solutions). Fagor manuals can be downloaded at FagorAutomation.com.

How do I change modes in an 8065?
Application: Use this procedure to change between User, Administrator and Setup Modes.
Place the machine in ESTOP.
Shut Down the 8065 CNC while leaving Windows© up. Ex: use the “TURN CNC OFF” (F5) softkey from the Main Manual Screen.
Use the mouse to Double Left Click the Red Fagor Icon in the bottom right hand corner of the task bar next to the keyboard icon. See Figure 1. Note: this figure shows the ADMINISTRATOR Mode Icon.
A window will open asking to restart in ADMINISTRATOR MODE – USER MODE – SETUP MODE.
Select the Mode you are needing and the CNC will start.
When CNC startup is complete, you may verify you are in the correct mode by the type of Fagor icon that is displayed in the upper left corner of the main panel. In this example figure 2 shows the SETUP Mode Icon.
After that you can press “custom” and now you’re in the standard windows screen. Now you can set up a network as you would a normal PC. I would recommend configuring it a a “WORKGROUP”. If the 8065 asks for any usernames or passwords, use CNC8070.
How do I shift my zero position on an axis on my Fagor 8065 Controller?
You would change the REFSHIFT value in the axis parameter.
For a Fagor 8065 Controller:
Press Main Menu
Select the “+”
Select Machine Parameters
Select AXIS
Select the axis you want
Scroll down to “Set 1” and click the box, this opens up another page for the axis you’re in.
Scroll down and you will see REFSHIFT
Click in REFSHIFT box
Enter new value
Click Validate
