DMS Factory Training Program

In order for us to put together the proper training plan we will ask what topics you would like for our instructor to focus on. Depending on your levels of interest and needs, we can have our instructor cover all or specific training topics. Ultimately, you can decide what knowledge you want to gain and we will make sure you achieve it. Once we know what type of training you would prefer, we will send you a formal quote for the number of days we recommend to meet your requirements and move forward with scheduling

Our factory training topics include:

  • Machine Overview
  • Electrical Components
  • Controller Basics
  • Mechanics & Maintenance
  • Tables & DNC+DDS Communication
  • Alignments & Calibration
  • Tooling, Fixturing, & Program Execution
  • Programming

For first time operators, typical basic operator training covers:

  • Machine Overview and Controller Basics: 1 to 1 ½ days (8-12 hours) minimum recommended
  • Mechanics & Maintenance: ½ day (4 hours) minimum recommended

We will also need to know what (if any) other topics apart from this list you would like to include in training. Please note if you would like to be able to fully calibrate the machine mechanically (level, square, lead screw, and head alignment) it will require advanced training. This is because a complete alignment is an involved step by step process that can easily take a full business day and in some cases even one and a half (1 ½)  to two (2) business days depending on the machines controller and yoke.  The instructor can either explain the concept of full alignment and calibration during your training and provide you with the documented procedure on how to do it or can walk you through the step-by-step procedure in a more comprehensive “hands-on” instructional method which takes more time.

DMS Factory Training is $800.00/day for up to five (5) people. Customer is responsible for their own travel arrangements and travel expenses.  For customers who have purchased a new router and are considering factory training before their router ships, please allow us additional coordination time with our Production Department as we must make certain your machine is assembled and ready for hands on training before you arrive. Once an order has been confirmed and training scheduled, we will provide you with formal training agenda before your scheduled training sessions and supplementary training materials (as applicable) during or after formal training. Training is conducted in a live production environment therefore steel toed shoes are required. Eye and hearing protection will be provided. Our business hours are 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday (Mountain Time) with class sessions beginning at (7:30 or 8:00am, time yet to be determined).
